Users Guide

QuickHT is a fast and dirty utility for the professional web master/web developer. What it does is give you a one step process to add Basic Authentication login to any directory on your server.

This program allows you to:

  1. Check a directory to see if Basic Authentication Protection exists.

  2. Add Password Protection to any directory on your server.

  3. Remove the .htaccess and .htpasswd files from any directory on your server.

Due to the nature of this program and it's ability to be mis-used, you must agree with the following before downloading this program. This program will not do ANYTHING ON IT'S OWN. It will only do exactly what you tell it to. You MUST be familiar with basic authentications and server paths before attempting to utilize this program, even if you have read the users guide. If you are not familiar with these two things, DO NOT download and use this program. Anything that you do with the program will be your responsibility. If you wind up locking out an entire server and manage to lock out dozens of other web sites, then this is YOUR responsibility because YOU told the program to do that. If you do not agree with this statement, do not download and use this program.
